“When we bought our home from the previous owners, they asked if we wanted to keep their antique book collection that graced the shelves of a well-made, but very standard-looking built-in bookshelf,” recalls Grey Joyner of Grey Joyner Interiors in Wilson, North Carolina. “When I first walked into that room, I felt that the bookshelf was going to be the star of the show, it just needed to be highlighted.” During renovations of the home, the family had the bookshelf painted Laguna Blue by Benjamin Moore, changed the hardware, added some gallery lights, “kept all those gorgeous vintage books,” and hung some beloved art in front of the bookshelves.
