Flea markets are a treasure trove for opaline glassware, says Wilson, North Carolina–based interior designer Grey Joyner. The semi-opaque, colorful glass was manufactured in France during the 19th century, mostly in Baccarat, Saint-Louis, and Creusot, and used to make everything from jewelry boxes to vases, trinket boxes, and perfume bottles.

“The rich colors like turquoise, pink, and yellow make for incredible accent pieces,” Joyner says.
